Family Tradition

Beekeeping has been a family tradition since 1957, starting as Mac's hobby. Helen & Tim registered Castle View Apiaries as a business in 1997.  We are now known as Roper's Honey.

We currently have just over 100 colonies of bees, spread across mainly Derbyshire, and are classed as Bee Farmers.

We have Apiaries at:

Bothamsall, Staveley, Inkersall, Norbriggs, Stainsby Mill, Sutton Scarsdale, Duckmanton, Whaley and Derbyshire Moors.

Working Bee Farm - Open to the Public for honey and beekeeping equipment sales

In 2013, we were able to expand our business with a move to Unit 3 Hall Farm, Sutton Scarsdale.  Over the winter of 2014/2015, we completed our move as we brought our Honey Extraction plant from Glapwell to the Bee Farm which has enabled to contract extract honey.
January 2020 we moved our Honey & Hive shop downstairs which is better for us and our customers.

We open to the public on:
Mondays / Tuesdays / Wednesday and Fridays 10am - 4.30pm
Sundays 10am - 12noon
(closed Thursdays, Saturdays and Bank Holidays)
