VISITING our working Bee Farm
Open to the public:

Mondays / Tuesdays / Wednesdays and Fridays 10am - 4.30pm
Sundays and Bank Holidays 10am - 12 noon
* (Closed Thursdays & Saturdays due to market commitments)
* (2nd Thursday of month, Feb-Dec, we're on Chesterfield Farmers' Market)

We have an Observation Hive in the shop (upstairs)
Come and watch the bees at work
(They'll bee back in 2019) (follow us on Facebook to find out when they are back in their summer residence)  

  
Look for: the queen, drones, worker bees.  What colour pollen are they bringing in?

ring your camera - try taking some different effects.
There is a spare beekeepers veil that you can wear if you're having your picture taken next to the observation hive.

Step 1 by Car

With the following steps, it should be as easy as 1 .. 2 .. 3 .. to Unit 3.
M1 Junction 29 roundabout,
~ Take the turning for Holmewood and Heath (A6175).
~ Turn Right immediately after Red House Service Station (Shell petrol station) (Slack Lane).  
~ At T-juction take a Right then Left (Shire Lane).  Follow the country lane till you reach Sutton Scarsdale. 
~ Look for the signs for 'Sutton Scarsdale Hall', Hall Farm is on your right just after the road down to the Hall.
~ See steps 2 and 3.
 
 Arkwright roundabout
~ Take the road to Sutton Scarsdale (Sutton Lane), over the hump in the road, under a bridge
~ You'll see signs for Hall Farm Fisheries, just keep going till you get into 'Sutton Scarsdale'.
~ The entrance to Hall Farm is just over brow of hill on your left, opposite first bungalow.
~ See steps 2 and 3.
Step 1 by Bus

~ Chesterfield - Sutton Scarsdale - Holmewood - Clay Cross

Step 2.
Turn into Hall Farm, then follow right lane down to 'Hall Farm Cottages only', otherwise you'll get caught in the farm traffic.

We're in Unit 3, next to the cottages, look for the beehive outside.

There are public footpaths around leading you into the countryside, with some great views,
you might also like to visit Sutton Scarsdale Hall whilst you are in the area.
